What to see

The museum is housed in a new building that was completed in 1995. All findings are from the surrounding area and reflect on the historical course of the city, of the ancient and Christian periods.

The post-Byzantine church of Ayia Marina is located in the 75th km of the old highway Thessaloniki – Kavala, just a few kilometers away from Stavros, in the valley of the Macedonian Tempi.

Lake Volvi is few kilometers away from Stavros Thessaloniki. It is in a row with Lake Koronia which is 11,5km away.

The Macedonian Tempi valley is characterized by dense vegetation.The vegetation that grows consists mainly of large plane, willows, lindens and elms trees.
